China will reach very high cotton production in 2004



   According to the United States Agricultural Department, China is estimated to increase its cotton crop with 30% compared to 2003. In case it reaches the estimated figures it will have a record output this year.
   One reason is the cotton high prices experienced last year. It is known that once the demand and prices for a commodity is big one year it will be cultivated in excess the second year.
China is the leading country in cotton production. It is followed by Australia, Pakistan and Brasil.
